Welcome to Sutton Pottery Looking for gifts, setting up a wedding list, or thinking of slowly replacing a worn-out dinner service? Sutton Pottery is a small "Open Studio" workshop in rural East Norfolk, established by Malcolm Flatman in 1977 in the Broadland village of Sutton, near Stalham. He makes a large range of "reduction" stoneware entirely by hand, in consistent styles and colours, and offers a full postal service. Malcolm also offers pottery lessons for those wishing to learn to “throw” pots on the potter’s wheel. A session of intensive tuition lasts 3 hours, and takes place on weekdays (mornings or afternoons), or on a few Winter Saturday mornings. Lesson dates are currently available from early December. Two electric wheels are available, so two people can share the experience and the cost! E-mail for more details, enquiries@suttonpottery.com , to book tuition or to buy a lesson gift voucher. Visitors are welcome in the workshop to see what’s going on, and to browse through the gallery area, where a large range of finished pottery is displayed. Usual opening times are: normal weekdays, 9 am to 1 pm, and 2 pm to 6 pm, or dusk in winter.
